Can you train me to program MidiLite?
No, we do not currently offer any training services, although, even if you are not one of our customers, we are available to help answer any simple questions. Just drop us an email. For more hands-on assistance, visit us at the annual
MidiLite Programmers Workshop.
Are you available to program on-location?
No, unfortunately due to scheduling and other commitments, Ed is not available to travel to your site to program your show. However, thanks to the ML Sim software, on-location programming is no longer necessary.
Can I make a special request?
Absolutely! Remember, our goal is to enhance YOUR production. Because we want to be a part of your vision, we not only accept programming requests, but we encourage it. If it is at all possible, we will make every effort to fulfill your special programming requests.
Can you program my incidentals or auxillary channels?
The official answer is "No." Because auxillary channels can literally be almost anything, it is not possible to create a simulator for these channels. Unofficially, we can drop in certain auxillary programming commands if enough information is provided. For example, if you write in the music that "Channel 87 on frame 1 needs to come on at measure 46 for the duration of the song," we will add that command for you.
Will you also program our star (for Christmas tree productions)?
This will depend on what type of star you have. Complex multi-channel stars cannot be programmed remotely as we currently do not have a simulator solution available. However, single channel stars that merely come on and go off can be programmed into your files, provided you tell us which channel and frame the star will be using.
Do I have to own ML Sim to use your services?
No, you do not need to own a ML Sim license in order to use our remote programming services. ML Sim is only needed for people who wish to program off-line themselves. We own a license for ML Sim which adequately covers the services we provide to all of our customers, regardless of whether or not they are ML Sim users.
What software do I need to have to use your services?
In order to use our programming services, you must own and will be required to use:
- MOTU's Digital Performer 5.13 or greater
- MidiLite's ML Design 2.0 or greater for uploading page data
While our DP files can be saved in earlier version formats, we no longer provide support for and can not garuntee our files will operate properly under any version less than 5.13 or greater. We currently use DP 7 and will need to know in advance if you are using a different version so that we can create a project with the proper formatting for you.
Can I buy any required software from OnKue Productions directly?
No. We recommend you purchase Digital Performer from Sweetwater Sound (1-800-222-4700,
http://www.sweetwater.com). If purchasing from Sweetwater, please request our account manager Paul Allen at extension 1318 and mention that Ed Thomas at OnKue Productions sent you. Unfortunately, you won't receive any special price from them for doing so, but we would surely appreciate the referral.
As for ML Design, we have suspended our MidiLite reseller activites and therefore request that you contact MidiLite directly to obtain a license for this application.
What methods of payment do OnKue Productions accept?
We currently accept payment via business-check or cashier's check only. Business checks must be written against a corporate or Church checking account. Due to increases in transaction fees, we no longer accept payments via PayPal or credit card. Cash payments are not accepted.
What are the payment terms?
Printed invoices are included in the package you will receive that contains your original materials and finished program data disc. All invoices are billed with "NET 15" terms. Again, our terms are "Net 15," and not "Net 30." We do not currently offer any early-payment discounts. Additional charges may be applied to any accounts which are unsettled by the 15th day after receipt of materials.
Why does your website look different on my computer?
Our website is optimized for viewing in the Safari and FireFox internet browsers. Internet Explorer users should not experience any significant aesthetic or operational issues as long as you are using version 7 or greater. IE 6 and previous releases do not display some of our PNG images or CSS code correctly. However, if you notice any major issues, please contact us via email and let us know so that we can investigate any problems.
With all due respect, if you aren't familiar with the MidiLite system, we do not currently have any services to offer you. However, we can direct you to MidiLite's
website where you can learn more about this computerized lighting effects system.
Can we fly you out to help us solve a problem?
Most problems can be solved via email or phone support. If there is a software issue, we can utilize the screen sharing function of Apple's iChat application (we use an AIM screen name, and not a .Mac, Mobile Me, Google, or any other iChat supported screen name). Our schedule does not often permit us to accept traveling requests, but should a situation arise where traveling is an option, the customer will be billed a per diem rate and must also arrange and cover all traveling and lodging expenses.
Can I purchase MidiLite systems or accessories through you?
We have suspended all MidiLite reseller activities. Please contact MidiLite directly to recieve a quote on systems, or visit their
online store to purchase accessories.
Do we have to mention Ed Thomas or OnKue Productions in our program bulletin?
While it would be greatly appreciated, it is not a requirement. We opperate as a vendor and therefore, payment is all that we expect. Any program credit is strictly at the customers discretion.
